Basic Meaning: superior-vehicle Chan

Senses:

  • A self-description of the Mahāyāna Chan school, which considers that it alone attains the highest realization of Mahāyāna truth. Abhidharma realizes the selflessness of person, but not the selflessness of phenomena.
