Basic Meaning: Middle Way School
Senses:
The Faxiang school 法相宗, which, based on the Saṃdhinirmocana-sūtra 解深密經, regards itself as the elucidation of the dharma in the third period of the Buddhaʼs teaching, offering the via media between the two extremes, the absolute as not confined to the phenomenal or the noumenal; also called 中道教 and 中宗.
