Basic Meaning: two approaches

Senses:

  • Two methods, two schools, etc. For example, the approaches of concentration 定門 and wisdom 慧門; lesser vehicle 小乘 and greater vehicle 大乘; the teaching of existence 有教 and the teaching of emptiness 空教; the absolute truth 眞諦 and conventional truth 俗諦; the two meditative practices of calming the mind and observing the real nature of things (Skt. dvi-mukha, dvi-mukhin, ubhayathā).
