Basic Meaning: explication based on mutual defining

Senses:

  • One of the four modes of explication 四種釋義 used in the Sanlun school 三論宗. It means teaching the extremes 偏 in order to clarify the middle 中, teaching the middle to clarify the extremes, and clarifying the doctrine by combining the middle and the extremes.
