五種不可思議

Basic Meaning: five inconceivable aspects (of omniscience)

Senses:

  • (Tib. lnga po rnams bsam du med pa'i rnam pa) (*Āryalaṅkāvatāravṛtti D4018.121.68a.6–68a.7). These are the five inconceivable 不可思議 aspects of the omniscience of a Buddha or an enlightened sage which knows:
    1. the number of sentient beings across the universe 衆生多少;
    2. all the consequences of their karma 業果報;
    3. the sensory spheres realized through the powers of meditative adepts 坐禪人力;
    4. the sensory spheres realized through the powers of nāgas 諸龍力;
    5. the sensory spheres realized through the powers of the buddhas 諸佛力.
