Basic Meaning: view of existence of a person

Senses:

  • In some cases, basically equivalent to the view of a self where 我見 or 人我見, which is different from the view that reifies distinct phenomena 法我見 (Skt. pudgala-dṛṣṭi, pudgala-dṛṣṭika). 〔梵網經古迹記 HBJ 3.425c21; T 1815.40.692c14〕 [Charles Muller; source(s): Hirakawa, Yokoi, Nakamura]
  • In other contexts, 我見 refers specifically to a view of self as the reified view of the five aggregates, while 人見 refers to a sense of subjectivity derived therefrom. See 我人四相. 〔金剛經〕 [Charles Muller]
