Basic Meaning: Foyan Qingyuan
Senses:
1067–1120. A monk of the Yangqi branch 楊岐派 of the Linji school 臨濟宗 from Shu 蜀, Sichuan province 四川省 who studied Vinaya and the Lotus Sutra and practiced Chan 禪. He received the complete precepts 受具 at the age of 14 and later inherited the Dharma 嗣法 of Wuzu Fayan 五祖法演 at Taipingsi 太平寺.
