Basic Meaning: *Saṃghabhara
Senses:
(460-?) Or perhaps *Saṃghavara or *Saṃghavarman, Ch. Zhongkai 衆鎧 (
'Armor of the Saṃgha'
), translator active in modern Nanjing, then the capital of the Liang, from c. 506 to 520 or 524. Collaborator of *Mandra[sena] 曼陀羅仙. Like the latter, said to be from Funan 夫南國 (usually identified with some part of modern Cambodia). Credited with the translation of the The Prajñāpāramitā as Taught by Mañjuśrī 文殊師利所說般若波羅蜜經
