Basic Meaning: internal causal conditions
Senses:
(Skt. *ādhyātmika-hetu-pratyaya, adhyātma-pratyaya; Tib. nang rkyen du gyur pa, nang gi rkyen) Contra Vasubandhu 世親, Saṃghabhadra 衆賢 argues that causal factors 法 do not cease spontaneously. Rather, according to Saṃghabhadraʼs presentation of the
'orthodox'
Sarvâstivāda 有部 doctrine, factors cease due to the internal causal conditions of impermanence. Stated another way, factors are destroyed due to the inherence of the mark of impermanence 無常相 in the collection of nine dharmas 九法 that arises, abides, changes, and comes to cease, all within one moment. The four marks of the conditioned 四有爲相 characterize this process of momentary change. See 滅不待因.
