Basic Meaning: six (sense) faculties

Senses:

  • The six sense organs: eye , ear , nose , tongue , body , and the object-apprehending aspect of the mind (眼根, 耳根, 鼻根, 舌根, 身根, 意根). See also 六入, 六境, 六塵, and 六處. They form the subjective aspect of the eighteen elements 十八界.
