(1567–1638); Korean monk of the mid-Joseon dynasty, born in Jeonju. Also known as Imseong 任性. In 1584, at age 18 he was tonsured by Cheonjeong 天定 and received the Buddhist precepts from Tanyeon 誕衍. In 1590 he inherited the Dharma of Jeonggwan Ilseon (靜觀
一禪). He spent his whole life teaching Seon 禪 theory and practice to his disciples. He passed away on March 1638 at the age of 72. [Juhn Ahn]
