Basic Meaning: karmic impressions that are specific in their function
Senses:
Karmic impressions that are cultivated in this lifetime, and which are specific in their function in that they are derived only from the afflictive hindrances 煩惱障 and not from the cognitive hindrances 所知障. These are coarser than
'broadly functioning karmic impressions'
通習氣 and can be removed by practitioners who are below the level of bodhisattva. Wonhyo gives the example of a person in high social rank who develops the karmic impressions of pride during his lifetime.
