The four dhyāna stages 四禪; the four concentrations on emptiness 四無色定—the emptiness of dharma-marks 法相, of nonexistence 無法, of own-being 自法, and of other-being 他法; and the four boundless demeanors 四無量心 (brahmavihāra; of friendliness, compassion, joy, and equanimity).
