Basic Meaning: ten types of [upholding] the precepts

Senses:

  • A comprehensive list given by Zhiyi in the Mohe zhiguan for all types of upholding the precepts:
    1. No fault 不缺戒
    2. No breaking 不破戒
    3. No rupturing 不穿戒
    4. Not mixed 不雜戒
    5. In accordance with the Path 隨道戒
    6. Without attachment 不著戒
    7. Praised as wise (conduct)[or, 'praised by the wise' ] 智所讚戒
    8. Mastery 自在戒
    9. In accordance with concentration 隨定戒
    10. Complete 具足戒.
