Basic Meaning: ground of excellent wisdom

Senses:

  • The ninth of the ten grounds of the bodhisattva path 十地. In this stage the bodhisattvaʼs wisdom becomes complete in the attainment of the four kinds of unobstructed understanding 四無礙解, and is therefore able to articulate the Dharma in all places and all languages without error (Skt. sādhu-matī, sādhu-matī bhūmiḥ; Tib. legs pa'i blo gros sa, legs pa'i blo gros). 〔 成唯識論 T 1585.31.51b3〕 [Charles Muller; source(s): Soothill, YBh-Ind, Hirakawa]
