Basic Meaning: the teaching of causes and conditions

Senses:

  • The first of the five teachings 五教 according to the classification of the Huayan scholar Zigui 自軌. The main point of this teaching is to properly establish the principle of causal arising to refute acausal theories of non-Buddhists.
