Senses:
The ground (esp. as contrasted to heaven 天). A land, a country, territory. The Skt. pṛthivī is transliterated as 鉢里體尾 (Tib. sa gzhi). The concept is also rendered as 土地, with the implications of
'capable of producing'
能生 and
'that on which things rely'
