Basic Meaning: Dasheng fayuan yilin zhang
Senses:
'Essay on the Forest of Meanings in the Dharma Grove of the Great Vehicle.'
Seven fasc.; T 1861, by Kuiji 窺基. Various aspects of Mahāyāna doctrines are explained from the Vijñaptimātra 唯識 standpoint, including many interpolations by later scholars. Included are such topics as doctrinal classification 判教, Yogâcāra doctrines, applications of practice, analysis of stages attained, etc. It is arranged in twenty-nine chapters, the details of which are listed in Mochizuki and the Daizōkyō daijiten. This text was a prominent source for many of the arguments presented in Ryōhenʼs 良遍 Kanjin kakumu shō 觀心覺夢鈔. Abbreviated as Fayuan yilin zhang 法苑義林章, Yilin zhang 義林章, Fayuan 法苑, and also known as the Qijuan zhang 七卷章. The twenty-nine chapter headings are as follows:
