In Yogâcāra theory, one of the four undefiled forms of cognition 四智 that are the result of the transmutation of the various forms of previously defiled consciousness upon becoming a Buddha. The mirror cognition can know all objects without distortion or interference. Once this cognition is attained, the mind and its various factors function in accordance. Abbreviated as 鏡智 (Skt. ādarśa-jñāna; Tib. me long lta bu'i ye shes). [Charles Muller; source(s): Ui, Nakamura,YBh-Ind, JEBD, Hirakawa, Yokoi,Iwanami]
