  • Also known as the 如來不思議境界經 and 不思議境界經. A variant translation of the Universal Light Dharma-Hall Assembly 普光法堂會 of the Huayan jing 華嚴經. The Buddha enters the Tathāgataʼs inconceivable state of samādhi under a bodhi tree in Magadhā 摩竭陀, and explains the content of the thirty-two marks 三十二相 one by one, within each mark revealing the buddhas of the world in the ten directions. Virtue Store Bodhisattva 德藏菩薩 freely manifests various buddha-works in the worlds all of the ten directions, and asks Samantabhadra Bodhisattva 普賢菩薩 whether he will emancipate all beings in this samādhi. In response to this, Samantabhadra explains the way of accomplishing unobstructed buddha-works, and explains the six perfections 六波羅蜜 that constitute the method for attaining this samādhi. Finally he elaborates on how the sentient beings attain access to these practices by cultivating virtue through memorization 受持, recitation 讀誦, explication 解說, and transcription of texts 書寫—attaining arhatship, as well as the practices of forbearance, zeal, and meditation.
