Basic Meaning: Mahāpratisarā
Senses:
A figure in the Court of the Lotus Division 蓮華部院 in the Garbhadhātu maṇḍala 胎藏界曼荼羅. Seated on a lotus, deep yellow in color 深黃色, he has eight arms. The right hands hold a vajra 金剛杵 at the chest, a sword 劍, an axe 斧 and a trident 三叉戟. The left hands hold a flaming golden cakra 金輪, lanyard 輪索, jeweled banner 寶幢 and palm leaf scripture 梵篋. Seed syllable: pra. Mudrā: palm-leaf scripture mudrā 梵篋印. Mantra: oṃ bhara bhara saṃbhara saṃbhara indriyaviśoddhane hūṃ hūṃ ru ru cale svāhā. Pratisara means charm or talisman. References:
