Basic Meaning: faculty of meditation

Senses:

  • Meditation 禪定 as a wholesome root 善根, being the fourth of the five faculties 五根. Also one of the twenty-two faculties 二十二根。The Treatise on the Taste of the Nectar of the Abhidharma defines the faculty of concentration as the faculty that stabilizes the mindʼs absorption in the four dhyānas 四禪定.
