Basic Meaning: joy of meditation

Senses:

  • One of the three joys 三樂. Pleasure obtained from practicing the four stages of dhyāna. Also, the pleasure obtained from rebirth in one of the heavens of the realm of form 色界. Similar to 禪定樂 (Skt. dhyāna-samāpatti-sukha; Tib. ting nge 'dzin la dga') 〔瑜伽論 T 1579.30.374a23〕 [Kongmu; source(s): YBh-Ind, DFB]
