Guangxiu (771–843). Tang dynasty monk, listed as the eleventh (or tenth) patriarch of the Tiantai school 天台宗. Popularly known as Zhixing Zunzhe 至行尊者. From Xiakun 夏昆 in Dongyang 東陽 (present-day Zhejiang 浙江); secular name Liu 留. At a young age he entered the tutelage of Daosui 道邃, under whom he studied Tiantai doctrine and meditation. He took up residence at the Chanlinsi 禪林寺, where he chanted daily scriptural texts such as the Lotus Sūtra 法華經, Vimalakīrti-sūtra, 維摩經, Suvarṇaprabhāsa-sūtra 金光明經, Brahmāʼs Net Sutra 梵網經, as well as the Four Part Prâtimokṣa 四分戒本. He also diligently practiced repentance 懺法, which he continued until his later years. See Fo Guang Dictionary for further details.
