Senses:
(1628–1701) A Chinese monk of the Linji school 臨濟宗 of Chan. His original family name was Wang 王, his Buddhist name was Shengke 聖可, and he was a native of Yingshan 營山 County (Sichuan 四川 province). He was a dharma heir of Poshan Haiming 破山海明 (1597–1666) and later resided in Jiaruisi 嘉瑞寺 (Suiyang 綏陽County) and Huayansi 華嚴寺 in Chongqing 重慶 (Sichuan 四川 Province). His writings include the Shengke chanshi yulu 聖可禪師語錄 (10 fasc.) and Chanlin baoxun shunzhu 禪林寶訓順硃 (4 fasc.). [Erez Joskovich; source(s): ZGDJT, FGD]
