Basic Meaning: mind and mental factors

Senses:

  • Mind and its various functions; mind and the factors of sentient existence that are directly associated with the mind. The mind as basis in this sense is sometimes referred to in East Asian Yogâcāra works as 'mind-king'  心王. Mental factors 心所 is an abbreviation of the term 心所有法.
