Senses:
(1282–1341) Chan 禪宗 monk of the Yuan 元代, originally from Huating 華亭, surname Huang 黃, an adherent of the Yangqi 楊岐 branch, also known as Meiwu 梅屋. He entered the order at the age of twelve at Yuanmingyuan 圓明院 in Pingjiang 平江 (in Jiangsu 江蘇 province). He later became the student of Fozhihuiji 佛智晦機 (Huiji Yuanxi 晦機元煕) of the Jingcisi 淨慈寺 in Hangzhou 杭州, where he would also later also teach. He subsequently became the abbot of Dazhongxiangfusi 大中祥符寺 in Jiaxingfu 嘉興府 (Zhejiang 浙江 province). He was the compiler of the Fozu lidai tongzai 佛祖歷代通載. [Charles Muller; source(s): Ui, ZGDJT, DFB]
