Also 慧遐 (n.d.). A monk of the Caodong school 曹洞宗 of Chan, who lived during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period 五代十國 (907–979). He was a native of Quanzhou 泉州 (Fujian 福建 province). His family name was Huang 黃, and he was dharma heir to Caoshan Benji 曹山本寂 (840–901). He resided at Fuzhou Caoshan 撫州曹山 (present-day Jiangxi 江西 prefecture) and was known as Zhong Caoshan 中曹山. He edited Dongshan Liangjie 洞山良价 (807–869) and Caoshan Benjiʼs Wuwei xianjue 五位顯訣. His posthumous name was Great Master Liaowu 了悟大師. [Erez Joskovich; source(s): ZGDJT]
