Basic Meaning: elimination and suppression of afflictions

Senses:

  • Elimination refers to the total extermination of afflictions, including all their latent forms such as seeds 種子 and habit energies 習氣. Suppression  refers to the quelling of the active manifestations 現行 of the afflictions, leaving their final elimination yet to be done.
