Basic Meaning: doctrine of non-causality

Senses:

  • The theory that causes do not exist, or that causes cannot be found in effects. In the Abhidharma-mahāvibhāṣā-śāstra this is identified as a form of nihilism (Skt. asat-kārya-vāda; Tib. rgyu med par smra ba). 〔大毘婆沙論 T 1545.27.1002c14〕 .
