Basic Meaning: Recorded Sayings of Chan master Zizhou Chuan
Senses:
Zizhou Chuan chanshi yulu. Three fascicles. The recorded sayings of Chan master Zizhuou Chuan 梓舟船 (1619–), compiled by Mingfa 明法 (n.d.) et al., and published between 1662–1722. The full title of the work is Tanxi Zizhuou Chuan chanshi yulu 檀溪梓舟船禪師語錄 J33nB281. The first fascicle contains Zizhuouʼs instructions during his tenure at Tanxisi 檀溪寺. Included among these are sermons from the high seat 上堂, small gatherings 小參, instructions to the assembly 示衆, etc. The second fascicle contains gong-an raised by the master 拈頌. The third fascicle commences with a preface to Zizhouʼs recorded sayings 語錄, and includes a record of his sayings and doings 行實, dharma-talks 法語, mixed prose 雜著, and Buddhist services 佛事. Two additional works are attached to the work, the Dajue an Zizhou chuan chanshi yulu 大覺庵梓舟船禪師語錄, and Jiuling ganquan Zizhou chuan chanshi yulu 鷲嶺甘泉梓舟船禪師語錄. [Erez Joskovich; source(s): ZGDJT]
