Basic Meaning: thusness of correct practices

Senses:

  • (Skt. samyak-pratipatti-tathatā) The aspect of thusness that resides in the full attainment of correct practices, such as the eightfold correct path 八正道. The Treatise on the Buddhabhūmi-sūtra describes this as the collection of untainted yet conditioned 有爲無漏 wholesome dharmas 善法 contributing to the full reality of the path. While untainted, the truth of the path 道諦 is composed of arising and ceasing dharmas, and is thus conditioned. One of seven kinds of thusness 七種眞如. (Tib. yang dag par bsgrub pa'i de bzhin nyid; H 109: vol. 51, folio/line 47a.7–47b.1) 〔佛地經論 T 1530.26.323a17; 成唯識論 T 1585.31.46c24〕 [Charles Muller, Billy Brewster; source(s): Ui, Nakamura, Mochizuki]
