[Charles Muller]
the Yogâcārabhūmi-śāstra says:
"What is the tathāgatas' permanent impairment of the karmic impressions? The means that the tathāgatas, whether in activity or observance, whether engaged in discussion or in meditation, the activities engendered by the seeming afflictions for the most part do not manifest. This is called the tathāgatas' permanent impairment of the karmic impressions. In the case of the arhats, even though they have eliminated their afflictions, they still possess the activities engendered by seeming afflictions in activity, observance, engagement in discussion, or meditation."
