Basic Meaning: attachment to negation

Senses:

  • Mistaken approach where one tends to negate in an imbalanced way. Overemphasis on the doctrine of emptiness 空執. The counterpart to this is the overemphasis on positing 增執. These are termed together as 二執. 〔十問和諍論 HBJ 1.839〕 [Charles Muller; source(s): Nakamura]
