無覺少觀定

Basic Meaning: concentration without [directed] awareness but with only [sustained] contemplation

Senses:

  • (Skt. avitarka-vicāramātra-samādhi, Pāli avitakka-vicāramatta-samādhi). Also translated as 無尋惟伺定 and 無尋有伺定, the second level of the three samādhis 三三昧. is vitarka ( 'rough apprehension' , rendered by Xuanzang as ); vicāra (rendered by Xuanzang as ) is fine analysis.
