Basic Meaning: Weilin Chanshi Huanshan lu
Senses:
(4 fasc.) A work recording the sayings of Weilin Daopei 爲霖道霈 (1615–1702) compiled by Xingdeng 興燈 (n.d.) and others and published in 1688. Its full title is Gushan Weilin chanshi Huanshan lu 鼓山爲霖禪師還山録 and its abbreviated title is Huanshan lu 還山録. It includes saying from Weilin from the time of his second stay at Gushan 鼓山 (Fujian 福建) onward. It opens with an introduction by Gong Xiyuan 龔錫瑗 (n.d.), fascicle one contains a dharma hall lecture 上堂; fascicle two contains an address to his disciples 示衆; fascicle three has services 佛事, poetic verses 偈, and laudations 贊; and fascicle four contains an introduction, afterword 題跋, notes 記, and travel stories 旅泊幻蹟. In 1693 it was republished with an introduction by Dokuan Genkō 獨菴玄光 (1630–1698) at the request of *Juzan Jōshuku 壽山蕘祝 (n.d.) of Fukushōji 福昌寺 in Satsuma 薩摩 (Kagoshima 鹿兒嶋 prefecture).
