Technical term in Buddhist Logic 因明, also written 唯識比量. This is the three part method of inference 三支比量 that Xuanzang 玄奘 learned while attending the great conference sponsored by the Indian king Śīlâditya 戒日王 at Kanyakubja 曲女城. This method is explained in the Yinming dashu 因明大疏 starting at T 1840.44.115b26, and is also treated in other Yogâcāra commentarial works. [Charles Muller; source(s): FGD]
