Basic Meaning: Authentic Chan School Lineage
Senses:
Chanzong zhengmai (10 or 20 fasc.). Also known as Chanzong zhengmai fa 禪宗正脈法 and Xuguqimingdu Chanzong zhengmai fa 敍古啓明讀禪宗正脈法. A work featuring biographies of figures revered in the Chan school, from Śākyamuni down to the dharma descendants of Weishan Lingyou 潙山靈祐 (771–853). It was first compiled in 1489 and was published in 1614. It contains edited extracts from Wudeng huiyuan 五燈會元 (20 fasc.), as well as commentary by Yuanwu Keqin 圜悟克勤 (1063–1135) and others.
