  • (1262–1348. ) Chinese monk of the Linji school 臨濟宗. Arrived in Japan in 1329 with Mingji Chujun 明極楚俊. Founder of the Jikusen Branch 竺仙派, one of the twenty-four transmissions of Zen 禪宗二十四流 that reached Japan. He was the head monk of Jōmyōji 淨明寺, Jōchiji 淨智寺, Nanzenji 南禪寺, Kenchōji 建長寺 and others; author of the Chikusen-oshō goroku 竺仙和尙語錄. [Michel Mohr, Charles Muller]
