緣具

Pronunciations

Basic Meaning: to have fulfilled the requirements/conditions (for a valid argument)

Senses:

  • In the context of Dignāgaʼs inference requirements, that would mean it satisfies the conditions sufficiency for the reason 因三相. In pre-Dignāga logic there would be other 'conditions' that an inference would have to meet and satisfy in order to be considered proper and valid (Skt. vākya). 〔順中論 T 1565.30.41c20〕 [Dan Lusthaus; source(s): Nakamura]
