Senses:

  • A general doctrine of Mahāyāna Buddhism that all phenomena are ultimately manifestations of ownʼs own mental activity. Similar to the concepts of 三界唯一心 and 心外無法. In Japanese Pure Land thought, this phrase is used to explain that the pure land of Amitâbha 阿彌陀 is located within the mind of sentient beings. 〔顯淨土眞實教行證 T 2646.83.600c18〕 .
