Senses:
Kōzen Daitō kokushi ikai. A short text by Shūhō Myōchō 宗峰妙超 (1282–1337), better known by his posthumous title Daitō Kokushi 大燈國師. Although not contained in either of the two works devoted to the masterʼs teachings, the Daito kokushi gonku 大燈國師言句 and the Daito kokushi hōgo 大燈國師法語, this work is famous among Rinzai 臨濟宗 practitioners. It can be found in most of the Rinzai popular handbooks used for daily sutra recitation as well as in the Zudokko 塗毒鼓 collection of kōans and short Zen writings. An English translation of the text the is contained in D.T. Suzukiʼs Manual of Zen Buddhism (1934, 147). [Erez Joskovich; source(s): Sasaki]
