Basic Meaning: Prajñāpradīpa-mūlamadhyamaka-vṛtti
Senses:
Or simply Prajñāpradīpa. Ch. Banruo deng lun. Fifteen fascicles by Bhāviveka (or Bhavya), T 1566.30.51-136; K 578; also listed under the titles of 般若燈論釋 and 般若燈. Translation by Prabhākaramitra 波羅頗迦羅蜜多羅 in 630-632. A commentary on the verses of the Madhyamaka-kārikā 中論 that refutes the theories of earlier Buddhists and non-Buddhists. The logical method of argumentation he used in this work held influence on succeeding generations of scholars, but was criticized by Candrakīrti 月稱. Translated between the 6th month, 4th year and the 17th day, 10th month, 6th year of Zhenguan (貞觀), (July, CE 630-December 4th, CE 632), Tang dynasty, or in the 3rd year of Zhenguan (貞觀; CE 629) in Shengguang Monastery 勝光寺.
