Basic Meaning: Puṣpakūṭadhāraṇī-sūtra
Senses:
The Huaju tuoluoni zhou jing; Tib. Me-tog brtsegs pa
Translator unknown: Eastern Jin dynasty 東晉 (317–420).1 . Also called 花聚經. One fasc., T 1358, K 339. While the Buddha is staying in the palace of the Dragon King 龍王 at Lake Anavatapta 阿耨達多, the bodhisattva Siṃha-vijṛmbhita 獅子奮迅菩薩 asks about the extent of the merit to be gained from offering all of oneʼs worldly possessions to the Tathāgata. In response, the Buddha says that rather than making offerings of clothing and so forth, one gains far greater merit by making offerings to the relics of the Buddha 佛舍利 after his passing away. Similar discourses are delivered in the Huaji tuoluoni jing 華積陀羅尼經 (T 1356), and the Shizi fenxun jing 獅子奮迅經 (T 1357). [Chinese Buddhist Canonical Attributions Database]
