  • The bodhisattva stage is the ninth of the ten stages of the Tiantai Shared Teaching of the three vehicles 三乘共十地. Here, the declivities proper are completely eliminated just as they are in the case of adherents of the two vehicles. Karmic impressions support their continued rebirth (since there are no afflictions left to do so), and they concurrently teach others while continuing to engage in their own contemplation of emptiness.
