Basic Meaning: Record of Koketsu
Senses:
Koketsuroku; two fascicles. The recorded sayings 語錄 of Zen master Gokei Sōton 悟溪宗頓 (1416–1500), compiled by his disciples, and published in 1639 (T 2570.81.313b25). The full title of the work is Daikō Shishū zenji koketsuroku 大興心宗禪師虎穴錄, and it was revised and edited by several Myōshinji abbots, most notably by Goun Ganjū 鰲雲元什 (n.d.) and Zenkyō Sōchū 禪扃宗柱 (n.d.). The first fascicle is composed of the masterʼs recorded saying from Myōshinji 妙心寺, Daitokuji 大德寺, and Zuisenji 瑞泉寺, as well as group teaching 示衆, Dharma talks 法語, gāthā 偈頌, pen names 道號, portrait-praise 像贊, self-praise 自贊, and memorial inscriptions 銘.
