Basic Meaning: Fenggan

  • (8c.) A Chan 禪宗 monk of the Tang, also known as Fenggan 封干, who was a renowned poet. Stayed at the Guoqingsi 國淸寺 in Zhejiang 浙江, where he regularly associated with Hanshan 寒山 and Shide 拾得, with the three of them becoming known as the ' three hermits of the Guoqing Temple'  國淸三隱.
