Basic Meaning: Vajralokā

Senses:

  • Diamond Lamp is one of the four outer offerings bodhisattvas 外四供養菩薩 found in the vajradhātu-maṇḍala 金剛界曼荼羅. Vajralokā, situated in the northwest, is offered by Amitâbha 阿彌陀 and symbolizes the light of Amitâbhaʼs wisdom. In the perfected body assembly 成身會 section of the mandala, Vajralokā is shown as a flesh-colored celestial being 天女 holding a lighted lamp in both hands. Her esoteric name 密號 is 普照金剛.
