金剛香

Basic Meaning: Vajradhūpā

Senses:

  • Also written as 金剛燒香, Diamond Incense, is one of the four outer offerings bodhisattvas 外四供養菩薩 located in the vajradhātu-maṇḍala 金剛界曼荼羅. Vajradhūpā, situated in the southeast, is offered by Akṣobhya 阿閦, who vows to give all beings “unobstructed knowledge of joy” 懌悅無礙智, like incense permeating all the world. In the perfected body assembly 成身會 section of the mandala, Vajradhūpā is shown as a blue-colored celestial being 天女 holding an incense burner in both hands. Her esoteric name 密號 is Vega-vajriṇī 速疾金剛.
