Basic Meaning: to fall from the pinnacle

Senses:

  • (Skt. *mūrdhabhyaḥ patitaḥ, *mūrdhabhyaḥ pātaḥ) The pinnacle 頂 is the state where one is free from the afflictions of the three realms 三界. 'Falling' means a retrogression to a defiled level of consciousness. Also written 頂退.
